Yogyakarta, October 28, 2026 — The Master’s Program in Quranic Studies (S2 IAT) at the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought (FUPI), UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, participated in an acceleration session for the completion of the ACQUIN accreditation application (borang), organized by the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) of UIN Sunan Kalijaga on Wednesday (October 28, 2026). The session took place from 08:30 to 16:00 WIB at the Grand Rohan Hotel, Yogyakarta.
This activity serves as a crucial part of FUPI’s preparations to meet the requirements for international accreditation by ACQUIN. During the forum, the faculty and program study teams coordinated efforts to expedite the completion of the Self-Evaluation Report (SER), ensure the inclusion of all necessary supporting data, and establish a timeline for the finalization, submission, and review of the accreditation documents.
Discussions focused on planning the acceleration of the application process, drafting a timeline for document collection and refinement, and scheduling the submission and review phases. This coordination aims to ensure that every section of the documentation is completed according to set targets, while maintaining the integrity of supporting evidence and ensuring alignment with the established accreditation standards.
In addition to addressing the completion of documentation, the session covered preparations for an on-site assessment by the ACQUIN team at the UIN Sunan Kalijaga campus. The on-site assessment is a vital stage in the international accreditation process, as it allows assessors to verify the information provided in the application, review the implementation of academic activities, and observe firsthand the institutional support provided for the educational process.
The Dean of FUPI, Prof. Dr. H. Robby Habiba Abror, S.Ag., M.Hum., emphasized that ACQUIN accreditation is a strategic step toward fostering the internationalization of the university, while simultaneously enhancing academic quality and institutional governance. This effort is expected not only to strengthen international recognition of the institution but also to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement within the faculty and its study programs.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Saifuddin Zuhri Qudsy, stated that the study program and faculty teams have made maximum efforts in preparing the ACQUIN accreditation documents (borang). This preparation process required coordination, meticulous attention to detail, and collaboration among various parties to ensure that all information and supporting documentation were presented comprehensively and in accordance with the applicable requirements.
He expressed hope that all ACQUIN documents submitted by the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Thought (FUPI) would be well-received. This aspiration serves as motivation for the entire team to continue refining the documents, addressing evaluation feedback, and ensuring the faculty is prepared for the subsequent assessment stages.
The participation of the Master’s Program in Qur’anic Studies (S2 IAT) in this initiative demonstrates the program’s commitment to supporting the internationalization agenda of both FUPI and UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The accreditation preparation also serves as an opportunity to evaluate and strengthen various aspects of educational provision—ranging from the curriculum, teaching and learning processes, research, and scholarly publications to governance and academic services.
Through this accelerated process, it is expected that the completion of FUPI’s ACQUIN documentation will proceed according to schedule and meet the established standards. For the Master’s Program in Qur’anic Studies (S2 IAT), this process is part of an ongoing effort to enhance the quality of master’s-level education, bolster the competitiveness of its graduates, and build an academic reputation on the international stage.
